In our curiosity of what will be trending in the bridal gown world over the next couple of years, we asked our Hand-Me-Gown brides what they are looking for when it comes to their favorite wedding dress styles.

1. Wedding dresses with slits

Whether they're going with a poofy gown or slim and sleek, our Hand-Me-Gowns brides have been loving a playful peek of a slit in their skirt. Check out this gorgeous Morilee Clementina with a slit added in to perfectly accentuate the bride's look.

You can go with a wedding dress with a slit already built in, but good news is that slits are also fairly easy to add in during wedding dress alterations. So, why not add an extra bit of fun to your bridal style? It will be all the rage in weddings this year.

2. The minimalist style bridal gown

Classic, clean, minimalist - whatever you want to call it, lots of modern brides just love keeping it simple. We're pretty sure that this is one of those of fashion trends that will never really go out of style, and a minimalist design will certainly be a major trend for bridal gowns in 2024 and 2025. More and more spaces across the country are going with minimalist and modern decor, so it's not really a surprise that our weddings are taking a minimalist edge.

What does a simple and minimalist wedding gown look like? The gown is typically ivory colored, and there's no big lace, intricate detailing, beads, or other embellishments on the fabric. Lots of simple bridal gowns are also sleeveless. This Tadashi Shoji look says it all.

3. Overskirts

Lots of brides love the effect of adding a skirt on to their wedding gown, and this will be another trendy wedding dress style in 2024. An overskirt is perfect for adding an extra special moment walking down the aisle, as well as a "second look" moment at the reception. Like many other bridal gown accessories, an overskirt is a great way to create a couple of different looks using one wedding dress.

4. Wedding dresses with 3D florals

3D colorful floral pieces on a bridal gown is a pretty, bold, and super unique way for modern brides to express themselves and stand out on their big day. And boy, is this wedding dress trend a real stunner.

When we asked our brides about their latest favorite wedding dress trends for 2024, one of the things they said is "pops of color!" And 3D florals are a perfect way to add impressive pops of color and detail to your bridal look. Who needs an over-the-top bridal bouquet if you can show off some florals on your wedding dress?

These colorful florals on your bridal gown can come in the form of tiny floral-styled fabric, ornaments, or crystals which are sewn onto your gown. Because they are sewn on as extras, this gives the floral pieces that 3D effect on the wedding dress.

5. Off-the-shoulder wedding dresses

All of the lists mention 'em: off-the-shoulder gowns will still be one of the top wedding dress trends in 2024. And it's easy to see why, as brides are just in awe of lovely lowered sleeves or straps that come with this type of gown and showing off some shoulder on their wedding day. 

Off-the-shoulder wedding dresses give room for a striking neckline, and are a showstopper whether you're in an uber intricate gown or a more simple ensemble. With all of this figure flaunting, pair this stylish bridal look with an elegant belt or eye-catching earrings as your ultimate bridal accessory.

6. The detachable sleeves bridal gown trend

Opt for a classic bridal look for the ceremony, go jazzed out for the wedding photo shoot, and then shift to life-of-the-party mode for the reception, detachable sleeves with your bridal gown let you do all three. 

The best thing about this stylish wedding dress trend is that you can pick your sleeve style to mix and match with your gorgeous gown. 7. The mermaid wedding dress trend

Even though this type of gown looks tight, it still allows for plenty of movement, so you'll be able to dance the night away.

8. The black wedding dress

This trend is the new black? The black dress is definitely on brand for lots of our Hand-Me-Gown brides. Our brides are already a little alternative and rebellious, so we weren't really surprised when we discovered that a black wedding dress is getting more requests as we move into 2024.
